When is a group not a group?
When it tries to please all of the members all of the time!
The distance any of us can walk varies from day to day depending on, e.g. on our health, the time we have to spare and good old British weather.
When a group of interested members met up for a planning session (and coffee) at a local pub restaurant in Odiham, the following guide lines were agreed;
- There would be no group leaders; all members were welcome (encouraged) to arrange a walk.
- Due to busy lives, there was no possibility of everyone being free at the same time. Instead a WhatsApp group would be set up and any member could post an invitation text saying ‘Anyone available for a walk on time/date? Members would then respond to say if they were coming along.
- As far as possible, all walks would be circular and include a café/pub/restaurant for coffee.
- Walks would be no longer than 2 hours/4miles and some members would prefer a shorter amble.
If this sounds your type of exercise and you would like your name added to the WhatsApp group, please contact the named person at the top of the page.
