Pilates - Group 1

When: Weekly on Monday afternoons
Weekly 1.45 for 2pm
Venue: The Cross Barn Main Hall
Cost: Around £5 per class, depending on numbers. . Payable termly in advance for all classes in a term



Joseph Pilates created the Pilates system in the early 20th century.

Over the years the exercises have been modified but the fundamental ideas of Joseph Pilates remain:

  • Strengthening the core muscles to protect the spine.
  • Toning muscles without creating bulk.
  • Corrective posture and alignment.
  • Increasing flexibility.

Our standing warm-up focuses on posture, alignment and balance. The mat work that follows focuses on core strength, coordination, flexibility and muscle tone.

All the exercises can be modified and adapted to accommodate injuries.

The tutor for all Pilates groups is Judy McDougall.




Monday afternoon group (Pilates Group 1)

  • Venue: The Cross Barn, Odiham
  • Times: TBC - 1 hr session

Tuesday morning group (Pilates Group 3)

  • Venue: North Warnborough Village Hall
  • Times: 12:00 - 1:00 pm - 1 hr session

Tuesday afternoon group (Pilates Group 2)

  • Venue: The Cross Barn, Odiham
  • Times: 3.30 - 4.45 pm - 1 hr session
